Here's a little Maison Ikkoku factoid:

Many of you many not know this, but the names of the characters in Maison Ikkoku are a bit of an inside joke. Most of the many characters' names contain a number that has something to do with, in most cases, their room numbers.

In Room 1, Mrs. Ichi-nose (First rapids)

In Room 2, Ni-kaido (Don't worry, you haven't missed him; he only appears in the final movie.)

In Room 3, actually we never see Room 3, but there is Mi-taka (Three Hawks/Falcons)

In Room 4, Yo-tsuya (Four Valleys)

In Room 5, Go-dai (Five Generations)

In Room 6, Akemi. Actually, it's Akemi Ropp-ongi (Roku->Ropp) which means "Six Trees."

And as for Otonashi, it means "No Sound." Kyoko lives in the Manager's room, or Room 0.
