Well, to tell you the truth, up until last night, I really had no idea what this article would contain. For about a week's time, I had been contemplating what this Nuku Nuku article would be about, searching aimlessly for some sort of focus. Finally, after utilizing my not-so-good web-searching techniques, I was able to find some voice interesting information that you can use on your next CJAS prelim (what, nobody told you about it? Well, you better start watching...). Doesn't Nuku Nuku's voice sound familiar? Well it's none other than Megumi Hayashibara, probably most known by the CJAS crowd as the voice of Rei Ayanami and Yui Ikari [and PenPen! -Ed.] (Evangelion). But if you've been here for a while, you might also know that she is also Pai (3x3 Eyes), Tomoko Saeki (DNA˛), Lucy (Macross Plus), Ranma Saotome (Ranma ˝), Lina Inverse (Slayers), Achika Masaki (Tenchi Muyo in Love), Ai Amano (Video Girl Ai), and the list goes on and on... What? Is that Ryuu carrying a yo-yo? Yup, the same voice that plays Ryuu (Kazue Ikura) is also the same voice of the tough yo-yo girl Saki Asamiya from last week's Sukeban Deka. [as well as Kaori Makimura in City Hunter] Well, while we are on the subject of Sukeban Deka, let's go ahead and throw in one of those evil Mizuchi sisters. The voice actress of Emi Mizuchi (Saeko Shimazu) also plays Akiko, Ryuu's mother. With that, I'll leave you with one more familiar voice. The next time you hear Ryuu's father talking in a serious tone, don't be surprised if he sounds a little evil. Why? Well, because it's the same voice of Ashram in Record of Lodoss War. And for you older members out there, Ryuu's voice (Akira Kamiya) is also the voice of Godai's arch-rival, Mitaka from Maison Ikkoku. [and the City Hunter himself, Ryo Saeba] |
