Tonight, CJAS will be presenting the final episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. If you've stuck around long enough to reach this point, then the climactic battle between Jotaro and Dio will not disappoint. Buildings will crumble, bridges will be destroyed, and innocent bystanders will be endangered -- and I, for one, will be loving every second of it.

How does one describe JoJo's? Yes, it's clearly bizarre, and yes, nothing is explained. Rational thought should be left at the door, and a love of extreme violence (and the ability to stomach insane amounts of blood) is a must. On paper, JoJo's borders on inane and mindless. The beauty of watching the series, however, lies in the fact that you honestly don't care about unnecessary details like the plot because you're having such a good time. JoJo's is just plain entertainment at its best. The viewer is swept up in the hyper-kinetic adrenaline-pumping action and the masterfully misplaced moments of humor. Where else would you find a character named Vanilla Ice or a heart-wrenching scene involving a man and his dismembered dog ("Igggyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!")? JoJo's is just so over-the-top that you can't help but love it. Plus, this show knows how to make its characters look cool. There're actually shots in the middle of episodes where Jotaro and crew simply pose for the camera. And those Stands, whatever they are, are just so awesome -- Jotaro says, "I'm going to let a little light in," and a gigantic chunk of wall just collapses behind him. So maybe you can fault the guy's fashion sense, but you can't deny that he has style.

If you have knowledge of the manga, then you are well aware that JoJo's is pretty heavy on plot to support all the action. The anime is a condensed version of the fourth chapter (more appropriately, the fourth major story arc) of the manga, hence the strange opening sequence (an allusion to the previous chapter/story arc) and numerous unexplained details. Of course, as already stated, the show does everything so well that the viewer's having too good a time to complain. It fits into the same category as Bastard! and Shin Getta Robo: extremely energetic and pure fun. JoJo's adds some uniquely original battles and has its own sense of humor, but it's all about the fun factor. So tonight you'll see Jotaro's Star Platinum take on Dio's The World in an epic ballad of pure, unadulterated destruction. Sit back, relax, give your mind a break, and enjoy the show.
