(trust us, it is...) "So, how do you want to dive into this one?" Adam asks in dismay.
You see, one day at E-board, I went crazy with the article sign-up sheet and
signed up the Ayesha-Adam team for God-knows-how-many articles (actually,
Bobby-knows-how-many). And poor, dear Adam has been paying for it
ever since. (Not that I, Adam, have suffered alone. Ayesha has been here
to complete the torment.) Anyway, we decided to make this article a total random fact one. Here is the first fact of the day:
So let us begin the seiyuu article with Marmalade Boy. The voices for the darling couple, Ginta and Arimi, are provided by Junichi Kanemaru and Aya Hisakawa, respectively. The brothers Grant, Brian in New York and Michael in Japan, are played by Toshiyuki Morikawa and Hikaru Midorikawa. Midorikawa also portrayed Ensign Nogami, the main role in Cockpit, and Zelgadis, the chimera in Slayers. Continuing with Slayers, the voice and headache-inducing laughter of Naga in the Slayers movies and OAVs was provided by Maria Kawamura. Kawamura is also the voice of Jung Freud in Gunbuster. Following the Gunbuster theme, we have Rei Sakuma offering us the voice of the indomitable Kazumi Amano. It seems that Sakuma has a thing for doing the voices for cats. She played Jiji in Kiki's Delivery Service and, another indomitable character, Shampoo of Ranma ½. Bouncing off the Ranma reference, we have Megumi Hayashibara, who gave us the voice of Ranma Saotome. In a more recent role, she breathed fire into Lina Inverse of Slayers fame and gave life (again and again and again) to Rei Ayanami in Evangelion. One more link to complete the circle: Resuming with Evangelion, Kaoru, the final Angel that Nerv had to face, was given life (just once) by Akira Ishida. Finally, Kei Tsuchiya from Marmalade Boy is another character voiced by Ishida. So we have completed the loop: MB to MB. Actually, it is not difficult to do. For the huge amount of anime that has been created, there is a rather limited number of seiyuu that have acted. It always surprised me... AI worked that into quite a systematic series of facts. To add some more randomness to it, here are a few more totally unconnected and rather odd facts:
