Yeah, actually the first time I saw the picture of the guy that they thought was the villian, I thought, "oh, it's the wine guy!" because they look so similar.
Fruits Basket is, well, Fruits Basket -- fun, but a bit slow.
I didn't pay much attention to Hana Yori Dango, but it looked too shoujo for me.
Angelic Layer looks like it could be fun. It also could be bad and boring. We'll see.
Didn't pay much attention to the Conan movie, but it looked too juvenile for my taste.
School Rumble was amusing, but I don't feel the need to watch more.
The ending to Haruhi was just as warm and fuzzy as I remembered it.
The Tenchi movie vaguely reminded me of Back to the Future, Time Traxx, Ghostbusters (ghost trap), and Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings (it just won't end!) all at the same time. Mildly entertaining, but I would've preferred to watch something else.
And that's about all I paid attention to.
I spent much of the rest of the time working on a program for tracking showing attendance. Next year, we'll get to have pretty graphs for seeing what the attendance level is for each show.

Haha, so that's what the code was for. If I recall, James wrote a very simple one that he used a couple times, but it didn't work out because adding/subtracting audience members every time someone entered/left the room was too annoying.
Angelic Layer spends a few episodes "getting started" (like getting set up, learning how the games goes, introducing characters) and those are kinda slow episodes. It's fairly cool once it gets started though, like episode 7 I think. I don't think it gets boring as it goes on.
