Remember those three Gundam compilation movies that we've shown already this year? Well, if you thought that they were boring and too long, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you see Char's Counterattack. This movie takes place well after the three compilation movies occurred. You'll see a lot of familiar faces in this movie, although slightly older and more mature (and drawn better!). Char's Counterattack finally concludes the history between Amuro and Char. Yes, yes. The weenie Amuro is back, and he's a lieutenant now. That soccer-ball-robot thing, Halo (Version 3.0), is back, too. Of course, Char is back, and he looks very cool without his helmet. That weenie Cameron is also back. And of course, everything he does is for Mirai. Tired of the old characters? Well, there's a new character, and her name is Quess. She's a teenage Newtype who betrays Amuro to side with Char. She believes in the same causes as Char (Go Char!). As was said before, Char's Counterattack takes place after the compilation movies, so the Zion resistance is no more. Char is "believed" to be dead. Unfortunately, there is still oppression and prejudice. Inhabitants of Earth look down upon those living in space on the colonies. Well, Char isn't really dead, and he's come back with a vengeance (Woo hoo!). He's the leader of the Neo Zion resistance. Their plans are to cause nuclear winter on Earth by crashing asteroids with nuclear materials on them into the planet. Already, quite a few have collided with Earth, and one more is needed to finish the job. So why is Char doing this? Well, oppression and prejudice is one reason, but his main reason for ruining Earth is to force man to flee into space and discover their potential as Newtypes. Basically, to force evolution. For anyone who doesn't know the history between Char and Amuro, it goes like this. Amuro and Char have fought a lot in their mecha. Amuro usually wins. In their last meeting, Char uses a girl named Lalah to fight against the Earth forces. But this is the same Lalah who taught Amuro to see his true nature and his purpose to live. And when Amuro kills Lalah when she tries to save Char, each man blames her death on the other. What's a Gundam movie without mecha? We see the new and improved Gundam with funnels. Funnels are like little satellite things that detach from the mech and fly around, controlled by the pilot's mind. They can also fire. The Neo Zionists have funnel technology as well. Well, anyway, watch this movie, and maybe Char will squish Amuro like the little insect that he is. Crush Char, crush! Muahahahahahah. Sieg Zion! |
