Introduction |
| Miaka is a normal (and perpetually hungry) 15 year old girl trying to pass her high school entrance exams. Visiting the library with her best friend Yui, she sees a red bird flying down a hall. She follows the bird and ends up in a rare books room where Yui joins her. There they find a book entitled Four Gods of Heaven and Earth. Yui starts to read the book which tells of the legend of the Suzaku no Miko (Priestess of the Suzaku) and how she gained amazing powers. It says further that the book is an incantation and anyone who finishes reading it will also gain those powers. As Yui and Miaka wonder what the book means, they are absorbed in a flash of red light that emanates from the book and pulled back to Ancient China. |
