Finally, after a brief Christmas break back at home, I am off again, and
this time it is to one of the four Asian Dragons - Singapore.
It is hard to describe my feelings toward Singapore. In so many
ways, it seems so familiar to places such as HK, NY and Chicago and yet, in
equally as many ways, it calls attention to all but the most casual of
observers, its individuality. Add to that a culture that's as
diverse as its population and a society where professionalism reigns
supreme, you have one place that spells success. With that, I
welcome you to my Singapore Experience...

Streets of Singapore
Singapore has spent a tremedous amount of efforts to preserve its past. Many of the buildings retain its rich history. Here is the Raffle Hotel near Raffle's Landing |

Streets of Singapore
Over 70% of the population is Chinese. Therefore, it is no surprising that many buildings are of Strait Chinese style |

Chinatown
Strange to have a Chinatown in the heart of what is essentially a Chinese country isn't it? |
|

Sre Marimman Temple
A very popular Hindu temple within Chinatown. Singapore has a large Indian population. |

|
Muslim Mosque
About 100m next to Sre Marimman Temple sits a Muslim Mosque. Why can't the rest of the world get along as easily? |
|
|
Chinatown
Even Chinatown is "multicultural" as it features as many differnet regions of Chinese food you can imagine. |

Street Performance
What struck me as kind of odd was that no one in the audience provided any emotional feedbacks - no cheers, no appluases, nothing. People just watched. Later I learned it is not common for Singaporean to outwardly show their emtions. |
