My Travel in Cambodia (Pictures from 2001-11-30 to 2001-11-06)

Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom (in Siem Riep) were built at the height of Khmer Empire when it ruled present day Cambodia, Java, Laos, part of Thailand and Vietnam.  The ruins are breathtakingly beautiful and takes good 3 days or more to explore.  This is one place in Cambodia that you should definitely not miss! (I must say, however, that considering most of the money went to an oil company and corrupt politicians, I wasn't exactly thrilled about the $40 ticket that I had to pay for a 3 day pass.)   I won't say too much but will instead let the pictures speak for themselves!  In case you are wondering, the cute baby girl is Carla.  She and her mom, Sonia, have been living in Siem Riep for the past two years.  She is absolutely adorable isn't she?  Sonia, you will definitely have to keep an eye on her when she grows up.  ( :

PS:  I got food poisoning at Siem Riep and was sick for two days.  So, please be extremely careful when eating there as food poisoning isn't fun and the medical services aren't exactly safe.  And in case you do get sick, it still pays to go to a hospital rather than accepting your guesthouse's "medical services."  The bell captain scared the hell out of me when he offered to cure my stomach ills with some unknown liquid in an IV bottle that he pulled out under his table...
