Thai people doesn't seem to have a problem showing dead
bodies on TV. Not only do they openly show images of dead people
during their viewing period, they also show autopsy being performed on the
news, something we would never do.

NEVER trust someone when they tell you a temple or any
tourist attraction is closed, specially if they offer to show you another
temple with "one day only free admission"
Most temples are free for Thais, so, if you really are on a
budget, pretend you are a Thai. Well, works for me anyway. ( :

ALWAYS insist on having Taxis run its meter.
Tuktuk drivers will offer to take you to "massages" or "make
a suit." Don't go! It is a waste of time as they get a
commission, which you will ultimately pay for!
Thai people are wonderful and friendly! So, enjoy
their hospitality but be polite.
In universities, students are divided into groups of
approximately 50 people under the same faculty (major) - so they can study
together. Nice system isn't it?

The REAL floating market is about 2.5 hours away from the
city. The one next to Bangkok is mostly for tourist.
Things at the floating market is usually over priced except
the fruits, which are delicious!
Go early if you want to go to the floating market.

The buses within Thailand are generally very good and
comfortable. The roads are good as well. If you go to ChingMai,
VIP buses from Bangkok is a good bet. I left at 9PM the previous night
and got here at 5:30AM the next day. No problems at all.
However, the AC was turned on all the way and it was C O L D!! So, be
prepared!
There are plenty of guest houses and trekking tours
available in ChingMai, no real need to book ahead of time. Prices are
reasonable too - 3 days of trekking and 1 day of hotel lodging costs 1800 B.
